Prayer and Fasting

Fasting
Regular fasting and practicing self-denial, as the Holy Spirit directs, are encouraged. This will clarify thinking, add fervency to prayer, motivate giving, and help develop empathy.

If you cannot participate in the total abstinence of food or a meal, you can still fast by eating less than usual or by eating "no choice food" (Daniel 10:3).

"Fasting helps to express, to deepen, and to confirm the resolution that we are ready to sacrifice anything—to sacrifice ourselves—to attain what we seek for the kingdom of God." - Andrew Murray
