Celebrate 10 Million by Telling 10 Million
Join with JESUS Film Harvest Partners (JFHP) to celebrate the harvest of 10 million souls! Jesus Film Harvest Partner teams around the world recently reported more than 10 million decisions for Christ in the last 12 years. These decisions are the result of face-to-face encounters with team members using a variety of tools with the JESUS Film being the primary means to share God’s love.
If you have ever given to Faith Promise or paid your World Evangelism Fund budget, you have helped reach the lost with God’s love. The infrastructure of the Church of the Nazarene around the world provides the foundation for JESUS Film teams to literally reach millions of people. God is using the Church and the JESUS Film in powerful ways. Based on statistics from last year, the equivalent of one person is coming to Christ every 45 seconds!
To celebrate this milestone, we want to tell 10 million people about this bountiful harvest. Celebrate with us by forwarding this to your contacts, include it on your Facebook page, add it to your Twitter account, blog it, and share it with your church! Do it to God’s glory. Selected Giving Receipts for June 2010
The Selected Receipts Report for June 2010 is available for your information by clicking HERE. Thank you for your faithful and generous giving.
NMI Constitution in Translations of the ManualThe NMI Constitution is now translated into French, Portuguese, and Spanish (within the 2009-2013 Manual of the Church of the Nazarene) and is available for download from the General Secretary’s site. Scroll down through the various language versions to select the required language. At this time, the three languages listed above are the only ones with completely translated 2009-2013 Manuals. The NMI section begins with Paragraph 811.
Mics for Missions
Recently the U.S.A. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) prohibited the use of wireless microphones operating in the 700 MHz band (698-806 MHz). Churches and organizations were told to cease using these microphones by June 12, 2010, or face heavy fines.
The FCC ban only applies to U.S.A. air space, which means these wireless microphone systems can be used in other countries. As a way of assisting global churches, World Mission Broadcast (WMB) and Nazarene Missions International (NMI) partner to offer “Mics for Missions.” This one-year initiative will facilitate the donation of usable wireless microphone systems from the U.S.A. to be used in churches around the world.
A Web site has been set up at www.micsformissions.org where churches can complete a donation form for equipment, as well as print a mailing label. WMB will facilitate the cleaning and servicing of the equipment, as well as connecting the equipment to a need outside the U.S.A. Donors may designate their gift to a specific area if they know of a need, but the cleaning and servicing will still be done by WMB.
Even though the majority of deliveries to the field will take place through mission teams, donations are also being accepted through the Web site to help cover shipping costs where personal delivery is not an option.
Please pass this opportunity on to your church leadership soon…before the old mics are thrown away.

NMI Book Review on Engage Magazine Retired missionary Charleen DiSante recently wrote a review of The Tower of Babel Was a Bad Idea, one of the 2010-2011 NMI missions books. It is posted on the Engage magazine Web site. This would be a great resource to promote the books in your church. Use a brief portion of the review for a verbal announcement, e-mail the link to the entire review to people in the congregation, and post the link on your church’s Web site or social networking site.

E-mail Addresses RequestedIn a recent e-mail to district NMI presidents, Global NMI Director Daniel Ketchum requested that district NMI presidents supply the NMI team with an e-mail address for each local NMI president. We will use the e-mail addresses immediately (and several times through the next few months) to communicate directly with each local president. This will help the NMI team on the global and district levels to stay more closely connected with local leadership while saving essential budget and precious time.
If any local NMI president does not currently have e-mail access, that leader can provide the e-mail address of someone who gets online frequently, who will print messages and give them to the NMI leader within a couple of days.
In some cases, local presidents can access e-mail through the church office, public library, school, government office, or Internet café. Perhaps a student in the community who does not attend church could help. Imagine the possibilities! Remember that even dial-up Internet access is available wherever there is a telephone. High-speed Internet connections are preferable, but are not essential.
Local presidents, please be prepared with an e-mail address when your district NMI president contacts you. We want to be in contact with you, while saving precious World Evangelism Fund money.
We Appreciate Your Letters
Editor’s Note: Iowa District NMI President Sharon Meek forwarded the following letter from one of her local presidents, Amy Meade. Amy’s enthusiasm is infectious and she has some great ideas for organizing NMI in her church, so we wanted to share her letter.
I have ordered all my materials and have reviewed them thoroughly already. I have read all the missionary books. They are amazing this year! There are four that are my favorites, and I don't think I could decide among them which one I liked the most. I can't wait until our first mission meeting to start showing them off to our members!
The new mission education materials look great, but I am younger than most presidents. I imagine that some might struggle to find what they want to use. Perhaps we could hook some of the younger ones with the older ones to get them going? I'd be willing to do what I can. It would be a shame for them to struggle and miss out on some of the great stuff!
I also want to thank you for the great CD of materials that you handed out in the packets. It was so thorough and easy to use. I have been able to prepare an entire year’s worth of announcements, lessons, flyers, bulletin boards, etc., already. This is a blessing for me since I'll be having my baby in early October and will need to have all the plans ready to go for my council! I am going to buy a binder tonight and monthly dividers to get it all printed off and assembled. If you think this might be of any use to anyone else, I'd be glad to make another and send it to you as an example. I haven't been doing this long. Having it all on one CD with all the months outlined and plenty of choices of materials for each emphasis was very helpful.
We love the new funding program! We have a simple spreadsheet set up for our use that is working fabulously. We will take care of the online part as well, but this is working great for us for budgeting and planning. It is very different from the old way, but we are excited about how it will work.
