The Cost of Keeping a Missionary on the FieldEver wonder or get questioned about what it costs to keep a Nazarene missionary on the field. The following are some statistics that highlight those costs. In addition, a chart showing the breakdown of how investments in World Mission for the year 2008 were accounted for is included below. The Cost of Keeping a Missionary on the Field:

1. Salary—$685/person ($1,370/couple), plus an additional $50/child 
2. Medical premiums are $530 per MONTH! The Missionary Health Care offering only pays for about 1/4 of the total medical expenses, which total approximately $2.0 million each year. 
3. $55,000 a year ($151 a day) to keep a missionary on the field! 
4. $100 per minute to run our global missions program
